Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy is a Ukrainian politician and former comedian and actor who has served as the sixth and current president of Ukraine since 2019. Born to a Ukrainian Jewish family, Zelenskyy grew up as a native Russian speaker in Kryvyi Rih, a major city of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in central Ukraine.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy was elected President of Ukraine on April 21, 2019 On 20 May, 2019 and sworn in as the 6th President of Ukraine. He was born on January 25, 1978 in Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. In 2000 he Graduated from Kyiv National Economic University, with a law degree. Between 1997-2003 he was an Actor, performer, script writer, producer of the stand-up comedy contest TV programme. Between 2003-2011 he became the Executive producer. Then in 2011-2012 he became the Chief Executive. Between 2013-2019 he became Executive producer at “KVARTAL 95”
He founded “The League of laughter” NGO. Produced 10 feature length movies, won more than 30 awards of the National Television Award of Ukraine “Tele-triumph”. President Zelenskyy is a prize-winner of numerous international film festivals and media forums. From the outset of the hostilities in Donbas Volodymyr Zelenskyy and “KVARTAL 95” rendered support to the Armed Forces with funds, equipment and arranged shows on the front line and in different military units. He is married to Mrs Olena Zelenska, and has 2 children, daughter Oleksandra and son Kyrylo.
