They hail from the Andes mountains in modern-day Peru and Bolivia, and have since become an essential ingredient in numerous delicious recipes. There are more than 4,000 different types of potatoes, but only a handful is commonly found at most grocery stores. In this lesson, we’ll explore some popular potato varieties and their best-suited cooking methods. They were brought to England by Sir Frances Drake in 1586.
