SPECIAL Christmas Cooking in English Competition.

Between  19th December and Monday 16th January we are holding a competition for all students.  The competition is open to everyone, students past and present. Here are the rules.

1. Students must cook any meal for dinner.
2. Before starting, students should write their recipe in English to include all of the following information:
   1. 1. 1. 1. All of the ingredients used in a list form
            2. All of the utensils and equipment used in a list form.
            3. And finally a clear description of the techniques and processes used to make the recipe.

Below there are two videos. The first is a very good example of Jamie Oliver cooking something and the next video is one of my students video cooking Spaghetti Carbonara. Danilo has been with me for a few years and his English is very good. He did a great job of making his video.

The process needs to be videoed using your cellphone in small step by step segments and sent to me before Monday 16th December. I will then knit them together and make you a video of your cooking experience. Remember, it must be in English. The idea is to make a video of you explaining in detail how to make this dish in English.

Why are we doing this?

1. Going through this process will allow you to put into practice all of the English you have learned from me over these past few years. This is real life. Use your English in a real situation.

What do you get from me?

1. The person that produces the best video will get one months free lessons during the month of February.

Below I have put an example of the way it could be done and an example of the detail I want. I have also put a video of one of my students doing his video as an example. Danilo did fantastic after two years of studting with me.

So, watch both videos and have a think. “Can you do better?”
